Aigai (Aegae) was a capital city of the ancient Macedonian Greeks in Northern Greece. Its modern name is Vergina. Its most famous kings were Alexander the Great and Philip, his father. It includes impressive royal tombs, a 4th century BCE palace and a modern museum. It is a popular tourist destination.
