The Mughal emperor Akbar with son Jahangir as a child; . Akbar, featured at center and dressed in a light robe, receives a lidded, stemmed blue-and-white bowl from an attendant, while his son, the future emperor Jahangir, tugs at the attendant's pink robe as he watches his father. Palace in background. Text appearing in two pairs of rectangular frames separated by a green square ornamented with a scrolling vegetal design in gold, each group framed in turn by a thin red border decorated with repeated motif of gold serrated leaves. Painting and text are framed within pink border illuminated with gold, foliated scroll motif, followed by a light blue outer border repeating the leaf motif framing the text; and a wider margin painted in green and illuminated with drawings of flowers in gold. Thin gold lines outlined in black separate the decorated borders.
