Any person can raise melons and they will grow almost anywhere. Even if only a small spot is available a few hills should be planted, especially Childs' Paradise. Plant ten seeds in each hill, covering half inch. Hills 4 to 6 feet for Muskmelons and 8 to 10 feet apart for Watermelons. Thin out to four or five plants later. Work fertilizer and sand into each hill. When plants appear, sprinkle with soot or bug death. One ounce will sow about 50 hills. Muskmelons 1195 Childs' Paradise. One thousand melons to a plant.
