Shili Hualang valley
This is one of the most impressive sightseeing destinations in China. Located in the remote northwestern part of Hunan Province, the scenic area goes by the general name Wulingyuan, with Zhangjiajie National Forest Park as part of it. Many Chinese, however, refer to the region as Zhangjiajie because there is a city by the same name, which, with its railway station and airport, is where most travelers land on their way to the scenic area. Measured a total of 500 square kilometers, Wulingyuan is known for remarkable views of thousands of pillar-like peaks that rise almost vertically from ground, reaching hundreds of meters into air, often immersed in floating mist and cloud that add to the beauty and mystery of the scene. In 1992 the UNESCO named Wulingyuan a World Heritage Scenic and Historic Site.
