In general these teeth are of the low selenodont type found in the European forms. The locality is the ' Metamynodon stratum ' of the Oreodon Beds. The description of this specimen was completed when a communication was published by Professor Marsh' oi a new species, Heptacodon curius, founded upon a single molar tooth, and said to be " apparently allied to ; The type of H. curtus is slightly smaller than the specimen here described.
