Its northern shore is broken into a series oflarge coves, while cliffs of considerable height loom up from the lake atseveral points. Mt. Katahdin, as seen from this lake, makes a grandlyimpressive picture. A paddle of a mile and a half up Trout brookbrings one to a farm where sportsmen are entertained. Thisbrook drains a large territory, its source being near Sourdnahunk,and for hunting or fishing it marks a locality that cannot be are sporting camps -on Grand Hulling Machine Falls. Ihere are no more lakes to be crossed on this trip after leavingGrand lake. Continuing down-stream, the canoeist comes to a mile ofquick water, which may be run.
