A s-cent fare ischarged for the ride on either of the systems, thus making the fare10 cents from 63rd St. to the southern termini of the lines. Thepresent total track mileage of both systems is 60 miles, of which 37miles are in Illinois and 23 miles in Indiana. During the past yeara portion of the track work has been rebuilt and several improve-ments made in the power distribution system. The regular schedule of operation furnishes 20-minute service. IN 93RD Sr. POWER HOUSE. between 63rd St. and Hammond, and also between 63rd St. andWhiting and East Chicago. Between South Deering and 63rd schedule with cars on 12-minute headway is maintained. For theconvenience of passengers the South Deering cars carry red signallights and signs, the Whiting ears green signal lights and signs andthe Hammond cars blue signal lights and signs. The companyissues a folder describing the route of each line of cars and stating the details of the schedule as to running time, etc. In ordinaryoperation the schedules require 35 cars, which arc of the largedouble-truck type with cross scats.
