London, UK. 4th February 2013. The composer Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847) was commemorated on the 240th anniversary of his birth with an English Heritage blue plaque at the house where the composer stayed during his visits to London. The plaque was unveiled by violinist and conductor Dimitry Sitkovetsky and by former director of BBC Proms Sir Nicholas Kenyon
