. 4 Battalion (attached 1 Battalion), Gordon Highlanders Lt Scott enlisted in September 1914, shortly after the outbreak of war. He was posted to the Western Front in February 1915 and became a victim of shell shock in June of that year. Lt Scott was wounded again at Hooge on 25 September 1915 but recovered and continued to serve until he was killed in action, aged 23, at Wancourt on 9 April 1917.
