Count Ioannis Antonios Kapodistrias (1776-1831) also known internationally as John Capodistrias, Κόμης Ιωάννης Αντώνιος Καποδίστριας, Komis Ioannis Antonios Kapodistrias, граф Иоанн Каподистрия, Ioann Kapodistriya,Giovanni Antonio Capodistria and Conte Capo d'Istria. After a long and distinguished career in European politics and diplomacy he was elected as the first head of state of independent Greece. He served as the Foreign Minister of the Russian Empire before founding the Greek state and heading its indepenedence.
