On account of poor healthFather Eis took a few months rest,and Bishop Mrak took charge of Ne-gaunee, from November 3, 1883, to AprilI, 1884. On April 5, 1884, Father Eisreturned and remained until All Saints 1890, when ill health compelled him toyield the place to the fourth and presentpastor. Rev. Charles Langner—now Mon-signor—came to Negaunee on November9, 1890. The parish was, what wewould term, built up, but it was by nomeans an easy berth.
