The exterior and entrance of Snake Temple (aka Hock Kin Keong) in Penang, Malaysia. It was built for the worship of the deity Cheng Chooi Chor Soo (aka Chor Soo Kong). Chor Soo Kong was a Buddhist monk from China and legend has it that he gave shelter to the snakes of the jungle and that these snakes continued to appear at the temple after its completion.
