lions eating from elephant kill, Panthera leo Nogaatsha
The lions of Nogaatsha in the Chobe National Park are famous for having developed the habit of deliberately hunting adolescent elephants. When the flow of water from the Okavango failed decades ago due to shifts in the earths crust the lions had to adapt as their normal prey, such a buffalo and many antelope species migrated away from the area as it dried out.
