This is a real situation. Image not to be used in a defamatory context. Ear mould impression preparations. Audiologist using a lighted ear probe to place an ear plug in the ear of a deaf patient about to have ear mould impressions taken. The plug will prevent the impression material from entering the ear too deeply. The probe is used to gently push the plug down the ear canal to the correct depth. The strings trailing down from the patient's ear will aid removal of the impression once it has set. If moulds are required for both ears, this is repeated for the other ear. For injection of the impression material, see image C014/0033.
