The largest load of hardy cut ferns ever drawn into North Adams arrived the other afternoon from Beadsboro, Vt. The team was owned and driven by G. J. "Walker, of Savoy Center, Mr. Walker is one of the eastern fern deal- ers who ships to cold storage every fall and holds the ferns for the winter trade. The load contained 588,000 ferns and the gross weight was 9,625 pounds. The^ ferns were picked in the woods about Beadsboro. They were sent to the Pittsfield cold storage and com- pletely filled one freight car. EVANSVTLLE, IND. The Market. The weather is so much cooler that firing has been necessary for roses. Business is excellent and, with a num- ber of weddings for October, indications are for a busy season. Mums are here and for the next few weeks will be in great demand.
