Clifton Suspension Bridge over the River Avon, c1864. By R. S. Groom. The Clifton Suspension Bridge opened in 1864 and was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. The ground breaking structure spans the Avon Gorge and the River Avon and links Clifton in Bristol to Leigh Woods in North Somerset.
