Darlington Street, Wolverhampton, ?1970s. A row of retailing premises in Darlington Street. Distinguishable premises from right to left: Stannards, Quality Cleaners Ltd, Abbey National Building Society, Stantons the bakers, Edelson Furs, and Powell Duffryn Travel Ltd. The building further down the street on the right with the clock, are the premises of the Sun Alliance & London on the junction with Waterloo Road. The junction with Red Lion Street can also be seen to the right of the white building with the roof. Darlington Street was cut through in 1821 and named after Lord Darlington, who later sold the land to the Town Commissioners.
