Bernard Schwartz took the oath of allegiance, September18, 1917. He served in the 316th Field Hospital, 304th SanitaryTrain, 79th Division U. S. A. He received his training at CampMeade, and then spent six months overseas. He was engaged inthe first phase of the Argonne Drive and there received woundsfrom the effects of which he is still in the hospital (July 30,1919). n
