Common wentletrap shell. The shell of a common wentletrap (Epitonium clathrum), a species of small predatory sea snail, in the family Epitoniidae, the wentletraps. This species is very common along the eastern Atlantic coast, in the North Sea up to Norway, the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. It is a predator of sea anemones and corals.
