Images of the destruction left after Storm Sandy on October 29, 2012 in New York City. The Rockaways in Queens, and Lawrence and Atlantic Beach in Nassau County, New York NY were all severely damaged by the wind and the storm surge of the ocean pushing up onto the shore. Sand covers the street, and houses, store fronts, the boardwalk, pools, cars, and dwellings were badly damaged. Boats wound up on the fairways of golf clubs.
