Gåsetårnet, or Goose Tower, Vordingborg Castle, Vordingborg, Sjælland (Zealand), Denmark
Castle was built in 1364 by King Valdemar the Great, who ruled and united Denmark between 1320 and 1375. The Goose Tower, which is the last remaining tower of the castle, was the first protected historic monument in Denmark. It is 26 metres high and so named because of the golden goose which was set on top of its spire in 1871. Queen Margete I of Denmark was born in the castle.
