ARABIAN GULF (July 13, 2017) Chief Electronics Technician Travis Hill operates the console of the Laser Weapon System (LaWS) aboard Afloat Forward Staging Base (Interim) USS Ponce (AFSB(I) 15) to track a Scan Eagle unmanned aerial vehicle.). Ponce is deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
