Jan Six, 1618 - 1700. Leading figure in the Dutch Golden Age and good friend of Rembrandt who produced the painting this engraving is based on. He was a serious art collector, playwright and in his old age the mayor of Amsterdam. From an engraving by Johann Wilhelm Kaiser after a painting by Rembrandt.
