Crested seriema. Head of a crested, or red-legged, seriema (Cariama cristata). This bird is endemic to South America, where it is found from eastern Brazil to central Argentina inhabiting scrub and grassland. This bird is mostly terrestrial, and can run at speeds of 70 kilometres per hour. It feeds on vegetation, insects, birds and small mammals, slamming its larger prey against a rock to make it easier to swallow.
