Brain haemorrhage. Coloured 3D computed tomography (CT) scan of the brain of a 68 year old male patient with a brain haemorrhage (bleeding). A large mass of blood (haematoma) is seen at centre right in the region of the right thalamus and capsula interna. Brain haemorrhages are most often caused by hypertension (high blood pressure), but can also result from injury, drug abuse or an abnormality of the blood vessels.
