Through the years, Willeen Herring enjoyed working with people in thechurch, especially through her involvement in WMU and her teaching in SundaySchool. Only time, and possibly eternity, will tell the impact that her life had onthe people who knew her as a faithful pastors wife, devoted mother, and ableteacher. Mrs. Herring was preceded in death by a son, David. Among her survivorsare two sons, Ralph Herring, Jr., of Statesville, North Carolina and JacksonHerring of Boulder, Colorado; and a daughter, Margaret Herring, of Bethesda,Maryland. Mark E. Miles attended the public schools in Raleighand graduated from Womans College of NorthCarolina (now the University of North Carolinaat Greensboro) with a degree in Biology in entered Yale University School of Nursingfrom which she earned a Masters degree in her early professional career she taught nurs-ing arts at the Rex Hospital School of Nursingin Raleigh and later she served as EducationalDirector for the North Carolina NursesAssociation before being appointed as was appointed as a Medical Missionary in 1948 to the Philippines.
