December 1, 2012, New York, NY. Workers strung lights on a 45-foot high, 35-foot wide Norway Spruce Christmas tree ahead of the traditional tree lighting ceremony on December 4. The NYSE says the tree, from Newburgh, NY, will be adorned with 3,500 white LED lights, 1,000 multi-colored balls with the NYSE Euronext logo and a six-foot star on top. The tree in front of the stock exchange on Broad Street has been a tradition in downtown New York since 1923. This will be 89th lighting ceremony.
