No one can tell you definitely which ones to select but I am going to give you some general advice here that may help you. Beginners If you are not a real fan and do not care to keep the names of the varieties but just want a good garden of nice kinds, buy the unlabelled collections. These are I believe the best un- labelled collections to be had anywhere. They consist largely of vari- eties listed in my regular list but also contain some others not listed. They are very good value. Fans and Advanced Amateurs If you are fan enough to want to keep the varieties separate, and want to work up a collection of the varieties that suit you the best, no one can tell you which ones to pick out. Tastes differ so largely and growing conditions are so different in various parts of the country that no grower or anyone else can tell you which varieties will do the best for you or which ones you will like the best. So the only way to do is to try out the various kinds which from the description seem to fit your needs the best and try these and then by selecting and discarding you can build up a collection that will suit you whether it does anyone else or not. You are the one to please. I will say however that varieties that I have given 3 and 4 stars are the ones I especially recommend though no doubt you would like many of the others, possibly some of them better than the higher starred varieties.
