Thousands take part in the annual Liverpool Santa Dash on December 2, 2012.


More than 8,000 people donned Father Christmas robes to run through Liverpool as the city hosted its annual Santa Dash. he runners set off on the 5km course from the Pier Head at in support of ITV's Text Santa Appeal, which raises funds for Age UK, Anthony Nolan, Carers UK, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Together for Short Lives and Whizz-kidz. Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle officially started the race, which finished at the town hall, and singer Esco Williams, MP Steve Rotherham, boxer Thomas Stalker and Big Brother contestant Nikki Grahame were among the thousands taking part.
