There seems to be a lighter supply of several stocks, but no scarcity. A slight falling off may lie accounted for in the going of the carnations, though there are yet «nough. and in much cooler and darlv weather. The hot wave passed over ?on July 18, and since July the weather has been cool and comfortable with several heavy rains. On July 24 an old resident remarked that he had never seen the trees, the grass and the flowers look better. It may be stated that the visitors to the con- vention are likely to see the horticul- tural features of Boston and vicinity in an unexcelled condition. Returning to the market, asters are now beginning to be factors in the trade, some good ones having appeared. Some of the roses are poor, but there is good stock on the market. There is an abundant supply of the Gladiolus America, Pink Beauty and others, and they are being used with good effect by the retailers both in window deco- ration and funeral work. A feature of the market is a good supply of gypsophila (baby's breath), which works up admirably with carnations and sweet peas. Gaillardias and vari- ous other outside stocks of good qual- ity are coming in. July 27.—With a somewhat dimin- ished supply the market was fairly ac- tive this morning, good roses going well.
