CAMP LEMONNIER, Djibouti (Aug. 2, 2015) Marine 1st Lt. Sam Carlson congratulates Sgt. Ryan Jackson during a promotion ceremony. Carlson is the executive officer and Jackson is a squad leader, both with India Company, Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Jackson was meritoriously promoted to corporal while deployed wit hthe 15th MEU. Elements of the 15th MEU are ashore in Djibouti for sustainment training to maintain and enhance the skills they developed during their pre-deployment training period.
