Photograph of the constellation of Cancer, with the constellation stars enhanced. Cancer, the Crab, is the fourth of the twelve constellations or signs of the Zodiac. Cancer is a relatively inconspicuous constellation; its brightest stars are only 4th magnitude. In Greek mythology, Cancer was involved with Hercules. The crab scuttled out and bit the hero as he was struggling with the multi-headed Hydra. The Sun is in Cancer from 22 June to 22 July.
