The tower and rose window above the west portal -the Royal Portal- at Chartres Cathedral, France.
Chartres cathedral was built between 1134 and 1260. It is a UNESCO World Heritage listed site. Of special note within the cathedral are the stained glass windows and its labyrinth. It was always, and still is, a place of pilgrimage. The west porta, the Royal Portal, was built between 1145 and 70.
