The WWW is a global network connecting thousands of host computers on the internet for free exchange of information. This information is stored as hypertext documents: text documents which have other data (such as pictures and links to other host sites) embedded in them. The hypertext is read using a browser program to automatically connect to other host computers. This boy is looking at the BBC online site, the web page of the British broadcasting corporation.
