North American T-6G Texan on taxiway

The North American T-6G Texan began service in 1938 as an advanced trainer with the United States Army Airforces (USAAF), United States Navy (USN), Royal Air Force (RAF) as the Harvard MK1, and Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). At the end of WWII, the T-6 became the primary trainer and was known as "the pilot maker". During the Korean War, the T-6 saw service as a Forward Air Controller (FAC) carrying smoke rockets for marking targets for fighter-bombers. The T-6 was phased out of service in 1955.
