The future San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Portland (LPD 27) arrives to its new homeport of San Diego. Portland, named after the largest city in Oregon, is the 11th San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship and is the third ship to bear the name ‘USS Portland.’ The ship is scheduled to be ceremoniously commissioned Apr. 21 in Portland, Ore.
