Close up of a flower of Ceiba speciosa, the floss silk tree The Silk Floss or Floss-Silk tree (Ceiba speciosa, formerly Chorisia speciosa), is a member of the bombax family (Bombacaccae). It is a thorny flowering tree native to South America but cultivated as an ornamental in other regions.
