Odr Los Angeles correspondent reports frost on December 12 to have injured the foliage of callas and freesias in the fields in that vicinity. Leonard, of Chicago, has just won another of his cases against the insurance companies, this time the Phoenii Insurance Company, of Brook- lyn, N. Y. The case was tried in the United States Circuit Court belore Judge Kaman and a jury, resulting in a verdict for $4,723 in Mr. Leonard's favor, after a week's trial. It is reported the other companies will settle now, three juries having found for Mr. Leonard, also the United States Court of Appeals on the law^. Detroit.
