Happy and fulfilled man enjoying life and friendship
It's a whole rainbow of feelings really, from frustration nervousness to great feelings of elation. There's a lot of work that goes in, and sometimes when Martyn and I have conversations, we wonder, 'what are we doing here?' And then you have events like the B Minor Mass, which was out of this world. There were plenty of times during that performance when I couldn't actually see the score, it was so emotional, it was tremendous and it's a whole kaleidoscope of things. The pleasure of performing music is of immense value. Keeping music alive - indeed, keeping the arts alive, is an important aim. it really is worthwhile to see what pleasure it gives to people who take part and people who come and listen.
