Renaissance chateau of Montresor, Indrois valley, Touraine, France.

In 1055 the Duke of Anjou, Foulques Nerra, asked his Captain Roger "The Little Devil" to build a fortress on top of the rocky outcrop dominating the Indrois valley. A Renaissance chateau was built around 1500 of which only one wing remains today, owned since 1849 by the family of Polish Count Xavier Branicki. Montresor is classified as one of the "Plus Beau Villages de France".
