Ventrally, this thickened area of bone ends in an abruptstep marking the lateral limit of a pronounced depression on the ventral surface of theskull roof in the area of nasal, frontal and prefrontal contact (Figs 7A, 8C). The prefrontal pillar forms the anterior border of the orbit and articulates with thelacrimal. Its ventromedial extent is currently unknown. The frontals (Figs 2, 7, 8) exist as paired, unfused elements forming the major part ofthe skull roof.
