Along the Danube River in the Vojvodina region of northern Serbia looking north towards the city of Novi Sad

At 2902 kilometers, or 1800 miles, the Danube is Europe's second longest river, after the Volga in Russia. It rises in the Black Forest of Germany and empties into the Black Sea. Before it has reached this spot in Serbia, it has traversed Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary. The river carried many European immigrants, including many Germans to Serbia, where they farmed.
