Mound on the White Mountain in Prague, Czech Republic


This mound on the White Mountain (Czech: Bílá Hora) is a reminder of the battle that took place here on November 8, 1620. It was an important battle in the early stages of the Thirty Years' War. The battle was one of the turning points in Czech history, and the subsequent re-Catholicization. The modest monument dates from 1920.
