Monument du Squelette on summit of Mort-Homme, near Verdun
The Monument du Squelette in the forest of Mort-Homme northwest of Verdun, was erected by veterans of the French 69eme Division d'Infanterie which suffered devastating losses here between April 5 and May 31, 1916. It stands on Cote 295, the highest hill in the Foret du Mort-Homme.
