Lochnagar Crater the site of a mine exploded by the British on 1st July 1916 the first day of the battle of the Somme,France. The Grimsby Chums were one of the new battalions raised by Lord Kitchener, and called Pals because men from the same city or town, and sometimes profession fought together.
