view of the church of San Michele arcangelo on the main square of Bevagna in Umbria in central Italy. The Church of San Michele Arcangelo dates back to the XII century and is the work of the architects Binello and Ridolfo. It was built on the site of an ancient oratory in 1070, only a few years later than the Church of San Silvestro, built by the same architects. It was the first cathedral in the city of Bevagna, then abolished in 1248 by Frederick II and later restored by Pope Paul V in 1620.
