A German courtly hunting hanger with silver mountings, circa 1780 Single-edged, richly etched and gilt blade with double-edged point, geometrical patterns within the fullers, the ricasso adorned with hunting motifs surmounted by the crowned mirrored cypher "CC". Silver relief hilt with rich rocaille decorations, grip scales of green coloured bone with two small tension cracks. Original leather scabbard with corresponding by-knifes decorated en suite and silver locket, slightly overpolished silver stamps at back. The chape with old replacement.
