A German two-handed sword,circa 1600. Massive blade with long ricassos and parrying hooks on the sides. An orb mark on the ricasso with three crosses(Amsterdam coat of arms?)on the opposite side. Both are worn by polishing and have remnants of brass inlays. Flat quillons with double guard rings on both sides. Original grip with worm damage. Leather grip cover missing. Slightly conical hexagonal pommel. Metal surfaces are pitted in places. Easily improved by restoration.
