Coprinopsis laanii is a delicate, cosmopolitan toadstool of the Psathyrellaceae family that is common in New Zealand's lowland podocarp forests. It appears in autumn and grows on wood. The fruiting body of this fungi is ephemeral and it self-dissolves into a black inky fluid. The spores are black. Photographed in New Zealand. Also known as Coprinus Laanii; Coprinus cineratus.
