In the caves of Matala (ancient Roman tombs), once "home" for many hippies, Phaistos Municipality, Heraklion, Crete, Greece.

The caves in Matala (one of the most famous sites in Crete) were used as "homes" from the Neolithic Era, then they were used as a cemetery during the Roman Era and reached the peak of their "glory" during the 60's and 70's when the "Flower Power" generation converted the small fishing village to one of the "capitals" of their movement. Many of the flower children, the hippies, keep returning with their families and show to their sons and daughters the place where they spent their "wild" years, when the dream of a better world did not seem like a utopia.
